DeFi United has gathered 132,000 ETH ($305 million), including 30,000 ETH ($68.3 million) from Joseph Lubin and his company Consensys, the developer of MetaMask. Aave will start converting ETH to rsETH at a rate of 1.07. The converted funds will then be transferred to the affected lockbox contract, allowing the secure resumption of full bridge operations. Aave noted that LayerZero and Kelp have implemented additional security measures before resuming bridge operations. However, the risk remains until appropriate measures are taken in the production environment. The hack of rsETH by the Korean Lazarus hackers, who borrowed funds on Aave, led to a $20 billion outflow from DeFi. The issue was addressed through platform lending. However, Curve founder Mikhail Egorov suggests a model with discounted buyouts of problematic debts. He argues that a market-based model is better than "patching holes" using other protocols.
