Certification from the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) is mandatory for all government institutions in the country. Without it, suppliers will lose access to government contracts. ANSSI Chief of Staff Samih Souissi states that the changes are not solely technical. They impact the industrial sector, regulation, and the country’s sovereignty. To support the industry, France has allocated €3 billion for quantum technologies. Previously, the U.S. National Security Agency also mandated all national security systems to switch to post-quantum protection by 2027. Systems that do not meet the requirements must be decommissioned by the end of 2030.
