The changes apply to USDC by Circle, PYUSD, USDG, and USDP issued by Paxos, RLUSD from Ripple, and SoFiUSD from SoFi. Mastercard noted that the expansion allows issuers and acquirers to process transactions outside of standard banking schedules. They can operate in parallel with existing settlement processes. In May, Mastercard received a BitLicense from the New York Department of Financial Services. The license will allow for operations with tokenized deposits and stablecoins. Additionally, in March, Mastercard purchased the infrastructure provider for corporate clients, BVNK, for $1.8 billion.
