In Michigan, Bill Huizenga won the Republican primary for the House of Representatives. He was backed by a16z, Winklevoss Capital, Coinbase, and the pro-crypto political committee Fairshake. He is a crypto supporter who backs regulation of crypto assets and promotes stablecoins. In Washington, incumbent Democratic lawmakers Suzan DelBene, Kim Schrier, and Marilyn Strickland also won their primaries. In addition, Republican Amanda McKinney advanced to the next round in her district as well. All four candidates support the crypto industry and received funding from it. These elections will determine 35 of the 100 seats in the Senate and all 435 seats in the House of Representatives. According to Polymarket, Republicans are expected to keep their Senate majority (56%) but lose the lower chamber (87%). Meanwhile, crypto companies have already donated more than $189 million to these elections.
