According to TRM Labs, the platform actively engaged with at least 60 Iranian organizations. These entities directed between 5% to 15% of their total transaction volume through CoinEx. Out of this, $2.7 billion is connected to the Iranian crypto exchange Nobitex. Notably, Nobitex deposited $360 million more on CoinEx than it withdrew. Additionally, the mining pool ViaBTC, associated with CoinEx, paid $154 million to this sanctioned Iranian exchange. ViaBTC also provided Nobitex with emergency liquidity following a major cyberattack in 2025. Moreover, CoinEx collaborated with the IRGC and Russian sanctioned organizations. Part of the $1.5 billion stolen from Bybit was transferred to the crypto exchange through Iranian wallets.
