Przemysław Kral headed Zondacrypto, which caused losses of 2.4 billion zlotys ($650 million). A significant portion of client funds, meanwhile, went into the accounts of the managers. For his role in large-scale fraud, he faces up to 25 years in prison. However, cooperation with investigators could reduce the sentence to just a few years.
Kral financed right-wing parties, including Nawrocki’s presidential campaign. In addition, he paid media outlets and Polish right-wing organizations. After being elected, Nawrocki actively promoted easing the country’s cryptocurrency legislation and refused to sign documents passed by parliament. Polish media report that Kral has detailed records of all transfers, including secret payments.
