The Humanity Protocol is a project for identity verification using biometrics and zero-knowledge proofs. It allows identity confirmation without revealing additional data. Humanity's main competitor is Worldcoin, developed by Sam Altman from OpenAI. Following a sharp decline from $0.7 to $0.1, the project recovered to $0.23. Initially, 17 wallets were affected with losses amounting to $5 million. However, the damage later exceeded $32 million, impacting hundreds of wallets. Specifically, the hacker exchanged part of the Humanity tokens (H) for $23.7 million in ETH and left $7.9 million in H. The project's founder, Terence Kwok, attributed the hack to the compromise of a private key belonging to a member of the Humanity Foundation. However, on-chain analyst ZachXBT believes the incident was staged and does not trust the team's version of events. He links the decline to the actions of the project's market maker, emphasizing that all H was sold on a DEX instead of a CEX. Previously, some Humanity executives were associated with lawsuits and financial fraud.
