The Prime Minister is pushing for a regulation that prohibits cryptocurrency donations until a mechanism for tracking funds is established. The government intends to implement these restrictions "retroactively" from March 25 through amendments to existing legislation. This proposal needs approval from both the House of Commons and the House of Lords, after which it can be signed by King Charles III. If enacted, parties will be required to return cryptocurrency donations within 30 days.
According to a survey conducted for The Times and Sky News, the right-wing Reform UK party is leading in the British electoral race with 23%. They support digital assets and accept donations in cryptocurrency. Reform UK is the main competitor to Prime Minister Starmer's Labour Party, which stands at 19%.
