The Ukrainian cryptocurrency exchange received approval less than two weeks before the end of the transition period on July 1. After this date, crypto companies must obtain a MiCA license or cease serving clients in the EU. Whitebit CEO Volodymyr Nosov stated that only 7-8% of companies managed to secure the license. Specifically, Austria issued only 9 MiCA licenses. He emphasized that the license will allow them to enhance the integration of Web 2 and Web 3 across Europe. Following the receipt of the MiCA license, Whitebit also announced the launch of a separate platform, whitebit.eu, for users in the EEA, excluding Malta. The W Group holding, to which Whitebit belongs, serves more than 35 million clients worldwide.
