The Ministry of Finance will allow the voluntary declaration of previously earned crypto profits without penalties for one year after the law is published. At the same time, the draft includes an exemption from tax for annual gains of up to €500. The new measure will also eliminate taxation on cryptocurrency exchanges, replacing it with a 10% capital gains tax. It will apply to income from staking, lending, and providing liquidity.
The Finance Ministry says the changes will close regulatory gaps in cryptocurrency taxation. Public consultations on the draft will end on October 22. A parliamentary vote on the initiative is expected in the first week of November.
